Cultivation method:
Soak seeds in warm water for 12 hours to improve germination. Sow directly in the ground in late May , when all risk of frost has passed. Plant 1.5 cm (1/2") deep , spacing plants 45-60 cm (18-24") apart and rows 30 cm (12") apart . Germination occurs in 10-14 days at an optimum temperature of 23 °C (73 °F). Favor full sun and well-drained soil , maintaining moderate watering to encourage good seed development.
Harvest and uses:
Harvest when the seed heads are dry on their stems . To protect the seed from birds before harvesting, cover the head with a brown paper bag .
