Organic 'Apricot' Tomato
Organic 'Apricot' tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) from the seed company Gaia, a small pale orange cherry with a velvety charm and tropical flavor
The 'Apricot' tomato, as delicate as its name suggests, produces small, round fruits about 1 inch in diameter , a bright, pale orange , sometimes slightly velvety to the touch. Their flavor is surprisingly fruity, sweet, almost tropical , reminiscent of fresh apricots with a touch of acidity that balances everything. It's an ideal variety for colorful salads, summer snacks, gourmet platters, and any recipe where a pretty and fragrant tomato can make all the difference.

Farming method
Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting out . Cover the seeds with 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4") of light potting mix, and maintain a temperature of 23–29 °C for germination in 5 to 10 days . Reduce watering and nitrogen during hardening off to strengthen the seedlings.
Transplant outdoors once the risk of frost has passed. Space plants 60 to 90 cm apart, leaving 120 to 180 cm between rows. Provide full sun and regular watering (level 3). Even though the fruits are small, staking is necessary to support their vigorous growth.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest when the fruit is a uniform pale orange with a slightly soft texture. Alternatively, harvest when the fruit shows its first blush , then allow it to ripen off the vine at 22°C or higher . Store between 12–21°C and 95% relative humidity to maintain freshness.
