Organic 'Bosque Plum Mix' Tomato
Organic 'Bosque Plum Mix' tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) from the seed company Gaia, a spectacular blue-plum-orange mix, rich in anthocyanins and vibrant with diversity
The 'Bosque Plum' tomato mix combines two lines selected by Chuck Burr (Restoration Seeds) :
• 'Bosque Plum' , a tomato with strong anthocyanin pigmentation that turns dark blue in the sun, then deep purple plum when ripe — resulting from a cross between a blue line and Amy's Sugar Gem .
• 'Bosque Yellow' , a golden tomato that ripens to a warm burnt orange-mahogany , offering a dramatic contrast to its blue-plum sister.
Indeterminate and productive, these small, round tomatoes create a veritable chromatic festival in the vegetable garden: the fruits of the same mix can range from bright yellow to burnt orange , from deep plum to anthocyanin blue , depending on sun exposure and ripeness. Their flavor is rich, fruity, slightly acidic, and robust—perfect for colorful salads, eating fresh, or artistic culinary presentations.
An ideal blend for gardeners who want to cultivate beauty, diversity and nutrition , since anthocyanins bring a rare antioxidant touch among tomatoes.

Farming method
Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting out . Plant seeds 3–6 mm (1/8–1/4") deep in a light potting mix and maintain 23–29 °C for germination in 5–10 days . Reduce watering and nitrogen during hardening off to produce vigorous seedlings.
Transplant when the risk of frost has passed. Space plants 60–90 cm (24–36") apart and leave 120–180 cm (4–6') between rows. To maximize blue pigmentation, grow in full sun . Water regularly ( level 3 ) and provide sturdy support , as these plants are very productive.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest when the fruit displays its final color : dark plum, burnt orange, yellow, or a combination of these hues. To advance the harvest, pick as soon as the first color appears, then allow the fruit to ripen off the vine at 22°C or above . Store between 12–21°C with 95% relative humidity .
