Bountiful harvests and crisp flavor

Yellow Dwarf Bean Seeds 'Gold Rush' (Phaseolus vulgaris), offered by Semences OSC.

These early beans produce long, 15cm (6in) yellow wax pods, hanging in clusters on compact, prolific plants. The pods have a crisp texture and exceptional flavour, making them ideal for eating fresh or frozen. Easy to grow and harvest, with their striking contrast to the dark green foliage, these beans are a great option for any home gardener or market gardener.

Plant height: 40-50 cm
Quantity per packet: Approximately 70 to 80 seeds
Days to harvest: 50-55 days
Degree of difficulty: Easy
Frost Tolerance: Killed by Frost
Companion plants: Carrots, corn, zucchini
Enemy plants: Onions, leeks

Cultivation method:

Beans prefer a light, organic, well-drained soil with a pH of about 6.5. Sow seeds 1 inch (2.5 cm) deep and space them 3 inches (8 cm) apart in rows 18 to 28 inches (45 to 70 cm) apart. Do not sow until the soil has warmed to at least 60 degrees F (16°C). For a continuous harvest, sow every 10 days until mid-July. Water evenly, especially during flowering and pod formation. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers and handle plants only when leaves are dry to prevent disease. Germination occurs in about 8 days.

The availability of our seeds varies depending on seasonal availability, production schedules and supplier inventory. Certain varieties may only be offered for a limited time based on their natural growth cycle, sowing period or available stock. These product pages are designed to help and inspire gardeners in choosing the right seeds for vegetable gardens, flower beds, pollinator gardens, container growing, naturalization projects and sustainable outdoor spaces.
