Application and monitoring

Mode of action

Adult parasitoid wasps emerge from mummified aphids, and females lay their eggs in aphids. The next generation of parasitoid wasps develops inside the aphid, which hardens into a tanned mummy. The adult parasitoid emerges through an opening at the back of the mummy. The first mummies are observed in crops approximately 10 to 14 days after the first introduction.

How to recognize its activity

Parasitized aphids turn into a brown mummy.

Application method

  • Place the material on rock wool slabs or in designated boxes (Dibox).
  • Ensure the material remains dry and in place for a few days

Dose and frequency

The dose of Aphipar depends on the climate, crop, and aphid density, and must always be adapted to the situation. Begin preventive introduction shortly after planting the crop. Introduction rates generally range from 0.25 to 4 individuals per m² /release. Releases should be repeated at least three times. Consult a specialist if pest pressure, crop, or conditions require a customized program.
