Leucothoe fontanesiana 'Paisley Pup', commonly known as ‘Paisley Pup’ leucothoe, is a compact evergreen ornamental shrub highly valued for its variegated foliage and seasonal color changes. This variety forms a dense, rounded bush with narrow, dark green leaves elegantly edged in cream. Young shoots often appear with pinkish to reddish hues that later turn variegated green, while in autumn and winter the foliage can take on bronze to purple shades. In spring, small, bell-shaped white flowers appear in hanging clusters and attract pollinators. Thanks to its compact size, this shrub is ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, and acid-loving plant plantings where it adds texture and brightness.
