Ligustrum × ibolium 'Aurea', known as golden privet 'Aurea', is a deciduous to semi-evergreen shrub highly valued for the brightness of its foliage and its great versatility in the garden. This variety forms a dense, rounded bush that is perfect for low hedges, borders, and shrub beds. Its oval, light green leaves bordered with golden yellow create luminous variegated foliage that brings a lot of contrast to plantings. In early summer, small creamy white flowers grouped in panicles appear, emitting a light fragrance while attracting pollinators. These are sometimes followed by small decorative purplish-black berries appreciated by birds. Very hardy and easy to cultivate, this privet toler tolerates regular pruning, ordinary soils, and urban conditions.
