Lonicera × brownii 'Dropmore Scarlet', known as 'Dropmore Scarlet' honeysuckle, is a deciduous climbing plant with a vigorous, twining habit, recognized for its vibrant, prolonged scarlet-red bloom. From early summer to early autumn, it produces an abundance of bright, slightly orange-red tubular flowers, highly attractive to hummingbirds and pollinators. Unlike several other honeysuckles, its fragrance is discreet, but its sustained flowering compensates with its visual intensity. Its dense, bluish-green foliage provides good coverage for trellises, pergolas, and fences. Lonicera × brownii 'Dropmore Scarlet' prefers full sun exposure and well-drained, slightly fertile soil. Very hardy and reliable in Nordic climates, it is an excellent choice for adding verticality and vivid color to residential landscaping.
