Lonicera caerulea 'Yezberry Solo'
Lonicera caerulea 'Yezberry Solo', known as the 'Yezberry Solo' honeyberry, is a deciduous fruit shrub recognized for its early production of tasty berries and its excellent hardiness. This compact variety forms a dense, rounded bush that easily fits into vegetable gardens, fruit gardens, and edible landscapes. In spring, small creamy-white flowers appear very early in the season and are followed by elongated, dark blue berries covered with a light bloom. The fruits have a sweet and slightly tart flavor reminiscent of a mix of blueberry and raspberry, and are excellent eaten fresh or made into jams, juices, and desserts. This variety is known to be self-fertile, which allows for good production even when planted alone. Very hardy, the honeyberry grows well in well-drained soil and full sun.
