Colorado Blue Spruce 'Scottie'
Discover the plant
Picea pungens 'Scottie', commonly known as 'Scottie' blue spruce, is a dwarf conifer prized for its compact habit and luminous silvery-blue coloration. This variety forms a small, dense, rounded shrub that adds structure and contrast to rockeries, dwarf conifer beds, and alpine gardens. Its short, rigid needles display a steel-blue to silvery-blue hue typical of the blue spruce, creating a remarkable decorative effect all year round. Thanks to its slow growth, the plant maintains its regular silhouette for a long time without requiring significant pruning. Very hardy and durable, this spruce adapts well to cold climates and tolerates poor soils, provided they are well-drained. However, it prefers full sun to maintain the density and intensity of its coloration.
