Pinus heldreichii 'Irish Bell'
Pinus heldreichii 'Irish Bell', known as the Bosnian Pine 'Irish Bell', is a compact ornamental conifer prized for its narrow habit and elegantly conical silhouette. This variety develops a naturally upright and dense form that brings a distinctive architectural accent to rock gardens, conifer beds, and structured gardens. Its lustrous dark green needles are short, stiff, and very tightly packed on the branches, creating dense foliage that remains ornamental all year round. Over time, the shrub forms a small, regular pyramid, reminiscent of classic alpine conifer shapes. Its slow growth and great hardiness make it an excellent plant for small gardens or spaces requiring a vertical structure without taking up too much width. This pine prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils, also tolerating poor soils and harsh climatic conditions.
