Pinus mugo 'Pumilio'
Pinus mugo ‘Pumilio’, also known as dwarf mountain pine ‘Pumilio’, is an evergreen conifer with a low, spreading habit, forming a dense, branched mass ideal as a structural ground cover. Wider than it is tall, it develops a naturally flattened silhouette that integrates perfectly into rock gardens, slopes, and sunny beds. Its dark green foliage, composed of short, rigid needles, maintains its appeal throughout the year. Very hardy and adaptable, Pinus mugo ‘Pumilio’ tolerates poor, sandy, or rocky soils, provided they are well-drained. Low-maintenance and durable, it offers an excellent solution for stabilizing slopes or creating a permanent structure in Nordic landscapes.
