Description
Prunus triloba 'Multiplex', commonly known as the double-flowering almond, is a deciduous ornamental shrub with an upright, rounded habit, spectacular in spring. Even before the foliage fully emerges, its branches are covered in a profusion of deep pink double flowers resembling small pompoms, creating a striking effect in mass plantings or as a solitary specimen. Its light green foliage then takes over to structure the landscape during the summer. Prunus triloba 'Multiplex' prefers full sun exposure and well-drained soil to ensure abundant flowering. Used as a free-standing hedge, a focal point, or grafted on a standard, it brings high ornamental value and brightly marks the arrival of spring in residential gardens.
