Pyrus communis 'Summercrisp' is a pear tree highly valued for its ability to produce crisp, sweet, and juicy fruit early in the season, with green skin tinged with red. Specially bred for cold climates, this cultivar has excellent resistance to fire blight and harsh weather conditions. Its white flesh remains firm even when fully ripe, making it ideal for fresh eating, fruit salads, or canning. Harvested before the fruit becomes overripe, the 'Summercrisp' pear retains all of its crisp texture and refreshing taste. Self-fertile but more productive with another compatible variety, it is easy to grow in home gardens and adapts well to well-drained soils and sunny exposures.
