Common name
'Kindred Spirit' Columnar Oak
Type
Street tree
Family
Fagaceae

Quercus × 'Kindred Spirit' is an extremely narrow columnar hybrid oak, resulting from a cross between Quercus robur fastigiata and Quercus bicolor. It forms a dense, regular column with glossy dark green foliage that turns golden yellow to brownish in autumn. Highly valued for its narrow width and consistently vertical silhouette requiring no pruning, this cultivar is ideal for aligned plantings, narrow tall hedges, or structured small spaces. Highly resistant to powdery mildew, salt, drought, and pollution, it adapts well to demanding urban conditions. It prefers well-drained soil and a sunny exposure. 'Kindred Spirit' combines graphic form, urban tolerance, and healthy foliage, perfect for persistent and unconstrained verticality.
