How to Grow:
Grow similarly to head lettuce. Direct sow in successive plantings every 2 weeks from April to mid-June in cool weather. Plant seeds 3 mm deep, 2.5 cm apart in rows spaced 40 cm apart. Thin seedlings to 30 cm for proper head formation. Keep soil evenly watered to prevent bolting and bitterness. Fall sowings can begin mid to late August. Germination occurs in approximately 10 days.
