Italian heirloom with bold flavors

Rapini Broccoli (Brassica oleracea), offered by OSC Seeds

Rapini broccoli is a traditional Italian heirloom known for its tender young leaves and flowering shoots, topped with tiny broccoli-like florets. Its bold flavor enhances any dish, making it a favorite in kitchens. With careful harvesting of young leaves, stems, and buds, it offers an extended 2–4-week harvest period.

Spread: Up to 45 cm
Plant height: 30–50 cm
Packet size: Approx. 200 seeds
Companion plants: Spinach, peas, lettuce
Incompatible plants: Cabbage, turnips

How to Grow:

Rapini thrives in cooler weather and matures quickly. For early crops, start seeds indoors in late March to early April in a soilless mix. Transplant outdoors in late April or early May, spacing plants 45 cm apart in rows 90 cm apart. Fertilize with a balanced NPK fertilizer (20-20-20) and keep the soil evenly moist. Harvest buds before they open when temperatures rise to maintain flavor and quality. Germination occurs in 7–10 days.

Rapini broccoli is quick and easy to grow, perfect for those who love fresh, flavorful greens.
