Rhododendron yakushimanum 'Percy Wiseman'
Rhododendron yakushimanum ‘Percy Wiseman’, also known as ‘Percy Wiseman’ rhododendron, is a compact evergreen shrub with a rounded, dense habit, particularly valued for the delicacy and evolving color of its blossoms. In spring, it produces clusters of apricot-pink flowers in bud, gradually opening to paler pinkish-cream tones, creating a refined multicolored effect on a single plant. Its dark green foliage, thick and slightly fuzzy on the underside, remains decorative all year round and offers excellent sun resistance compared to other rhododendrons. Rhododendron yakushimanum ‘Percy Wiseman’ prefers partial shade and acidic soil, rich in organic matter, and well-drained. Ideal in mass plantings, rock gardens, or foundation plantings, it brings structure, texture, and elegance to northern gardens.
