Cultivation method:
Sow seeds indoors about 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Use a peat moss-based mix for quick germination (10-14 days) at a temperature of 70-75°F (21-24°C). When seedlings are 1.5 inches (4 cm), transplant into individual pots, lowering the temperature to 60-65°F (15-18°C). Harden them off before transplanting into well-drained soil, spacing 2 feet (60 cm) apart for compact plants.
Tomatillos require direct sunlight and regular watering at the base. Rotate crops to prevent disease and apply mulch to conserve moisture and protect the fruit.
