Cultivation method

Sunflowers prefer full sun exposure , in rich, well-drained, slightly sandy soil. Sow directly in the open ground after the last frosts , 2-3 cm deep , spacing the plants 30 to 60 cm apart depending on the variety. These hardy flowers tolerate drought well, but regular watering at the beginning of growth will encourage their good development. Stake the taller varieties if they are exposed to strong winds. Flowering begins about 80 to 100 days after sowing , offering magnificent flowers all summer and into autumn.

Use and benefits

In addition to their striking beauty , these sunflowers are excellent for biodiversity , attracting pollinators and birds that love their seeds. Once dried, the seeds can be harvested for human consumption or to feed birds in winter. Cut flowers add a sunny touch to bouquets , while their presence in the garden helps structure spaces with their slender shape.

With their ease of growing, impressive height and flamboyant colours , this sunflower mix is an ideal choice to beautify any type of garden.
