Harmony 'Roselily Romance Mix' (Lilium) produces a coordinated mix of large, very double, bright pink and pure white flowers. Their many overlapping petals evoke a rose and give off a pleasant fragrance. This Roselily selection is normally pollen-free, which limits staining in bouquets. The Van Noort package contains two No. 1 bulbs. The upright stem reaches about 90 cm (35 in) and the plant occupies almost 40 cm (16 in) in width. Its dark green foliage accompanies a refined summer bloom. This variety is suitable for borders, fragrant beds, cut flower gardens, and large containers.

Plant the bulb in spring, point upwards, 15 cm (6 in) deep, and leave 40 cm (16 in) around the plant. Choose full sun or bright partial shade in fertile, humus-rich, fresh, and very well-drained soil. Water deeply after planting, then maintain regular moisture without standing water. A thin mulch or low-growing perennials keep the base cool. In a windy location, a discreet stake supports the 90 cm (35 in) stem and its large double flowers. Van Noort classifies 'Roselily Romance' in zone 3 and indicates possible cultivation in zones 3 to 10.

In spring, protect new shoots from slugs and inspect the foliage for lily beetles, their eggs, and larvae. Remove them by hand when possible. After flowering, cut only the faded flowers and keep the stem and all green leaves so they can recharge the bulb. Cut them to the ground after they naturally yellow. Even if Roselily flowers are normally pollen-free, occasional pollen production is still possible. The plant remains a true lily of the genus Lilium: all its parts, including the bulb and vase water, are extremely dangerous for cats.

Growing method

Install this lily in sun or partial shade, in loose, well-draining soil. Plant the bulb with its base down and its tip up, at a depth appropriate to its packaging. Prepare a space wide enough so that the roots find loosened soil around them. If the site is exposed to wind, provide support before the stems grow tall, to avoid damaging the bulb later. After planting, water to bring the soil into contact with the roots, then adjust watering according to the actual soil moisture. After flowering, remove the spent flowers but keep the leaves green. They allow the bulb to replenish its reserves before the plant's dormancy. Wait for the foliage to naturally yellow before cutting the dry stems. In a container, pay particular attention to drying out and avoid water remaining in the saucer. For your bouquets, leave enough foliage on the plant in the garden and use a stable vase. Lilies are ornamental plants that are inedible and very toxic to cats: keep bulbs, plants, cut flowers, and vase water out of their reach.
