Preparation of tubers
Before planting , let the tubers germinate in a bright, cool place for 2 to 3 weeks.
Cut large tubers into pieces , making sure each section has at least one eye.
Planting method
1Choose a well-drained soil, rich in organic matter and slightly acidic.
2Plant the tubers 10-15 cm (4-6") deep , spaced 30 cm (12") apart.
3Cover with soil and water lightly.
Hilling up
When the plants reach 20cm (8") in height, hill up the soil around the stems to encourage tuber production and protect them from the sun.
