Vaccinium corymbosum 'Cabernet Splash'
Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Cabernet Splash’, commonly known as ‘Cabernet Splash’ variegated blueberry, is a deciduous fruit shrub with a compact, upright habit, sought after as much for its production as for its distinctive ornamental foliage. Its young shoots emerge deep wine red, then develop into green foliage variegated with cream, creating a bright contrast throughout the season. In spring, it produces pinkish-white, nectar-rich bell-shaped flowers, followed in summer by firm, juicy, dark blue blueberries with a sweet and well-balanced flavor. Although slightly less productive than some classic varieties, it compensates with its high ornamental value in beds or containers. Its foliage turns intense red in autumn. Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Cabernet Splash’ requires acidic, rich, and well-drained soil.
