‘Cayuga’ Grape (Vitis ‘Cayuga’). The Vitis ‘Cayuga’, commonly known as the ‘Cayuga’ grape, is a vigorous hybrid grape variety prized for its versatility and good adaptation to cool climates. Its powerful climbing habit, with strong tendrils, allows it to effectively cover trellises, pergolas, and fences in full sun, while forming a dense vegetative screen thanks to its deep green deciduous foliage. It produces medium to large clusters of greenish-white to golden-yellow grapes when ripe, with relatively thick skin and juicy flesh, offering a balanced flavor between sugar and acidity, with fruity notes reminiscent of apple and light tropical fruits.

To plant ‘Cayuga’ grape, choose an appropriate exposure: full sun. The recommended soil is: well-drained, fertile, tolerates slightly clayey. Install the support before the stems become long and difficult to guide. Pruning for fruit production depends on the chosen training system. Thin the clusters without excessively removing the foliage, which feeds the plant during their development. Water the root ball before planting it and ensure that water can drain after planting. During establishment, check the moisture by hand before watering again. Distribute mulch around the base, leaving the crown clear.
