Vitis 'Maréchal Foch'
Vitis ‘Maréchal Foch’, commonly known as ‘Maréchal Foch’ grape vine, is a hybrid grape variety highly valued for its hardiness and winemaking quality. Its vigorous climbing habit, with twining tendrils, is easily trained on a trellis or training system in the garden as well as in the vineyard. It produces compact clusters of blue-black grapes with thick skins, rich in pigments and aromas, ideal for making colorful red wines with notes of dark fruit, cherry, and sometimes spice. Maturity generally occurs in late summer or early autumn. Its deciduous bright green foliage forms a dense canopy during the season. Cold-hardy and relatively disease-tolerant, Vitis ‘Maréchal Foch’ attracts pollinating insects and is an excellent choice for cooler climates.
