‘Seyval’ Grape (Vitis ‘Seyval’). The Vitis ‘Seyval’, commonly known as the ‘Seyval’ grape, is a hybrid grape variety renowned for its great adaptability and winemaking quality. Its vigorous climbing habit, with twining shoots, is easily trained on a trellis, pergola, or espalier system in the garden or vineyard. It produces medium to compact clusters of pale green to golden yellow grapes, with thin skin and juicy flesh, offering a good balance between sugar and acidity. Highly valued for making dry, aromatic, or sparkling white wines, it generally ripens in late summer.

To plant ‘Seyval’ grape, choose a suitable exposure: full sun. The recommended soil is: well-drained, slightly fertile. Install the support before the stems become long and difficult to guide. Pruning for fruit production depends on the chosen training system. Clear the clusters without excessively removing foliage, which nourishes the plant during their development. Water the root ball before planting and ensure water can drain after planting. During establishment, check the moisture by hand before watering again. Spread mulch around the base, leaving the crown clear.
