This variety develops a twining, sprawling climbing habit, much wider than it is tall if not trellised, but capable of reaching significant height when trained on a trellis, pergola, or fence. Its bright green deciduous foliage creates a dense screen in summer and sometimes takes on beautiful autumn hues. Clusters of small, dark blue grapes ripen in late summer, offering a harvest appreciated for fresh consumption or processing.

To plant ‘Trollhaugen’ grape, choose a suitable exposure: full sun. The recommended soil is well-drained, fertile, and deep. Install the support before the stems become long and difficult to guide. Pruning for fruit production depends on the chosen training system. Clear the grape clusters without excessively removing foliage, which nourishes the plant during their development.
