Cultivation method:

Sow Brussels sprout seeds indoors about 4 to 5 weeks before the last frost date. Plant them 1/4? (6 mm) deep in a soilless mix and maintain a germination temperature of 70°F (21°C). Seeds will germinate in 7 to 10 days. After germination, grow the seedlings in slightly cooler temperatures to encourage robust growth.

Harden off the plants gradually, then transplant them outdoors to a full sun location when all danger of frost has passed, usually in late May. Space the plants 75cm (30?) apart in the row and leave 75cm (30?) between each row. Maintain regular watering and fertilize lightly to encourage optimum growth.

Harvest the shoots from the bottom of the stem upwards when they are about 1? in diameter and are firm and well-formed. For best flavor, wait until the first frost, which will mellow out the flavor.

Additional note:

Brussels sprouts 'di Bruxelles' are an excellent variety for extending the harvest season. Their frost tolerance and high productivity make them a must-have for any gardener or market gardener looking to enjoy fresh, nutritious vegetables well into the fall.
