Buckwheat for sprouting (Fagopyrum esculentum), offered by the seed company Weston Seeds

Buckwheat sprouts, often called "buckwheat lettuce," are distinguished by their fresh, mild, and slightly grassy flavor. They develop tender stems and small, pale green leaves that add a light and pleasant texture to salads, bowls, or garnishes. Easy to grow, they quickly form a dense carpet of nutritious and decorative young shoots.

Height: 6 to 10 cm
Spacing: Close-cropped tray
Sowing: Soaking + indoor germination
Exposure: Soft light
Quantity per packet: 90g of seeds, untreated, non-GMO

Cultivation method:
Spread the seeds in a single layer at the bottom of a germination tray, then soak for several hours. Rinse twice a day and ensure good drainage. The sprouts will reach maturity in 10 to 12 days, becoming tender and slightly crisp. Allow to dry slightly before refrigerating for better storage.

Soaking
Soak the seeds for 6 to 10 hours to promote even hydration and a quick start.

Yield
Half a cup of seeds produces about 5 cups of fresh sprouts, ideal for raw or cooked dishes.

Storage
Store unsprouted seeds in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration or freezing will ensure a longer shelf life and a good germination rate.
