Cultivation method:
Sow 'Tango' celery indoors in early March in light, sandy soil , covering the seeds with about 3 mm of soil . Germination occurs after about 3 weeks at a temperature of around 18°C . When the seedlings reach 2.5 cm , transplant them into individual pots to encourage strong root development.
At the end of May , transplant into the garden in soil rich in organic matter , spacing the plants 20 to 30 cm apart in rows at least 60 cm apart. Celery prefers consistent moisture , but not excessive moisture: the soil should remain moist, but never waterlogged. Mulching is highly recommended to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Harvest :
Harvest by cutting the entire plant at ground level before it goes to seed, or by picking the outer stems as needed. This method allows you to extend the harvest and enjoy consistently fresh and crisp stems.
