This variety requires fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil with an ideal pH of 6.0 to 6.5 . Consistent moisture is essential, especially after transplanting and during dry periods. Plant in full sun or light partial shade . Plant at a depth of approximately 6 mm , then thin to 30–45 cm in spacing between rows approximately 61 cm apart to allow for optimal apple development.
Growing tips:
Crop rotation is essential for cabbage cultivation. It is recommended to wait at least three years before replanting cabbage or another brassica in the same plot, in order to limit disease and ensure healthy growth.
Harvest :
Harvest the cabbages when the heads are firm . Cut at the base with a clean knife. The heads keep well in a cool place , allowing for staggered use after harvesting.

With its well-formed red heads, early maturity, and mild flavor , the 'Alfaro' summer cabbage is an excellent choice for quality summer harvests. Easy to grow and a delight in the kitchen, it brings color, freshness, and crispness to both the vegetable garden and the plate.
