Pot-A-Peno F1 Pepper (Capsicum annuum) , offered by the seed company WH Perron

A fun new jalapeño pepper, the Pot-a-Peno F1 is perfect for container or hanging basket gardeners. With its compact growth habit, this plant produces an abundance of small green peppers with a classic hot taste. As the fruits ripen further, they turn red, developing a sweet and spicy flavor. This pepper is unique in its arrangement: the fruits hang below the plant, making it easy to harvest without damaging the plant or affecting its productivity. A 2021 All America Selection Regional winner, it is perfect for adding flavor and aesthetics to your space.

Cultivation method:

Sow seeds indoors, about 8-10 weeks before the last frost, in well-drained potting soil. Maintain a constant temperature of 72-77°F (22-25°C) for optimum germination in 7-10 days. Prick out seedlings when they have 4-5 true leaves, then transplant outdoors after the last frost. Choose a sunny location and use a 10-12 inch (25-30 cm) diameter pot for container growing. Water regularly, but do not overwater, and fertilize with a balanced fertilizer every two weeks for optimum yield.

Pot-a-Peno F1 is a compact and productive variety that combines practicality and flavor. Whether to spice up your dishes or decorate your garden, it will delight pepper lovers and urban gardeners.
