'Munstead' lavender ( Lavandula vera ), offered by the seed company WH Perron

'Munstead' lavender is an earlier-flowering, more compact version of classic Lavandula angustifolia. With its early blooms and elegant habit, it's perfect for flower beds, rock gardens, and borders. This perennial with its captivating fragrance is ideal for attracting pollinators while adding a touch of the Mediterranean to your gardens.

Maturity: Perennial
Plant height: 30 cm
Spread: 60 cm
Formulation: Untreated / Germplus
Latin name: Lavandula vera

Cultivation method:

Sow 'Munstead' lavender seeds indoors approximately 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost. Use a well-draining potting mix and maintain a temperature of 18 to 21°C (64 to 70°F) to encourage germination. Plant the seeds on the surface, covering them lightly with potting mix, and keep the substrate slightly moist. Transplant the seedlings outdoors or into pots after the last frost, spacing them 30 to 40 cm (12 to 16 inches) apart in a sunny location with well-drained soil.

Enjoy compact and easy-to-grow lavender with 'Munstead', a hardy variety that will beautify your garden while diffusing its soothing and timeless fragrance!
