Bandit Leek (Allium porrum) , offered by the seed company WH Perron

The Bandit leek is a vigorous variety, ideal for late harvests. This leek is distinguished by its great resistance to cold and its slow bolting, which allows it to remain in excellent condition in the garden for several weeks even in late autumn. Versatile, it can also be stored to extend its consumption beyond the harvest season. Perfect for soups, stews or stews, Bandit is an ally of choice for lovers of fresh and robust vegetables.

Maturity after transplant : Late
Barrel : 20-25 cm
Harvest season : Fall
Formulation : Organic
Enemy plants : Beetroot, bean, parsley, pea, sage
Companion plants : Carrot, celery, celeriac, fennel, strawberry, lamb's lettuce, oregano, salsify

Cultivation method:

Sow Bandit leek seeds in a nursery or directly into the ground 8 to 10 weeks before the planned transplant date. Transplant the young plants into fertile, well-drained soil, spacing them 15 to 20 cm apart. To encourage the development of long, white stems, earth up by adding soil around the plants as they grow. Be sure to water regularly, especially in dry weather, to ensure optimal growth.

The Bandit leek is an ideal choice to extend the harvest season. Its hardiness in cold temperatures and its ability to be stored make it a must-have for the fall vegetable garden. Grow it and enjoy its sweetness in your comfort dishes!
