Hybrid parsnip 'Albion F1' ( Pastinaca sativa ), offered by the seed company WH Perron

Parsnip 'Albion' is an early variety distinguished by its long, regular white roots with a deliciously sweet taste. Its shallow root makes it easy to clean, making it a practical and tasty choice for gardeners. Ideal for cooking, soups or purees, parsnip 'Albion' is a must-have in the vegetable garden.

Maturity after sowing: 115 days
Length: 20 cm x 4.5 cm
Color: White
Formulations: Untreated
Enemy plants: Dill, fennel, parsley, potato
Companion plants: Lettuce, onion, peas, salsify, tomato

Cultivation method:

Sow seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked, in rows about 12 inches apart. Parsnips prefer loose, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Thin the plants to 3 to 4 inches apart. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, to ensure uniform root growth.

The 'Albion' parsnip, with its sweet taste and ease of cultivation, is perfect for enriching your vegetable garden. Once harvested, its roots keep well in a cellar or refrigerator, to prolong their tasting throughout the winter.

The availability of our seeds varies depending on seasonal availability, production schedules and supplier inventory. Certain varieties may only be offered for a limited time based on their natural growth cycle, sowing period or available stock. These product pages are designed to help and inspire gardeners in choosing the right seeds for vegetable gardens, flower beds, pollinator gardens, container growing, naturalization projects and sustainable outdoor spaces.
