The Tondo Liscio tomato is an heirloom variety prized for its round, firm, red fruit with a sweet and balanced flavor. Cultivation method:
Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, in a light, warm potting mix. Cover the seeds lightly and maintain a temperature of around 22 to 24°C for germination in 5 to 10 days. Place the seedlings in bright light and transplant into individual pots once the first true leaves have appeared.
Transplant into the garden after all risk of frost has passed, spacing the plants 60 to 90 cm apart in rich, well-drained soil amended with compost. Provide a stake or light support, as this variety maintains a compact habit while producing abundantly. Water regularly and mulch to retain moisture and reduce temperature fluctuations.
