Start 'Amarillo F1' melon seeds indoors about 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost. Transplant them outdoors when the soil has warmed up to at least 18°C (64°F). Plant in well-drained, organically rich soil in full sun. Space plants 90 cm to 1 m (3 to 3 ft) apart in rows 1.5 to 2 m (5 to 10 ft) apart. To ensure successful pollination, add one pollinator plant (such as 'Ace F1') for every two 'Amarillo F1' plants. Water regularly to maintain consistent moisture, and mulch to suppress weeds and retain moisture. Harvest the melons when they are fully ripe, with a slightly dull rind and a yellowing underside.
Bring a bright and sweet touch to your summer meals with the 'Amarillo F1' watermelon, a unique and tasty choice for your vegetable garden!
