Description

Aronia prunifolia 'Viking', or Viking black chokeberry, is a vigorous and very productive fruit shrub, selected for the generous size of its berries and their high antioxidant content. It develops a dense rounded habit, adorned in spring with abundant white flowers that give way to glossy black fruit in late summer, highly prized for juices, jams and nutritional powders. Its dark green foliage turns brilliant purplish-red in autumn, adding significant ornamental value. Tolerant of poor soils, drought and diseases, 'Viking' is ideal for edible orchards, multifunctional hedges or biodiversity projects, combining yield, hardiness and seasonal beauty.
