Picea pungens 'Neon', known as the 'Neon' blue spruce, is a compact ornamental conifer valued for the exceptional brightness of its foliage and its dense habit. This variety forms a well-structured conical to pyramidal shrub that brings verticality and contrast to conifer beds, rockeries, and structured landscape designs. Its rigid needles display a very vivid, almost luminous silver-blue coloration in the sun, which explains its 'Neon' name. This decorative foliage remains attractive all year round and creates a remarkable focal point in the garden. Thanks to its slow growth and naturally regular silhouette, this spruce retains its shape for a long time without requiring significant pruning. Very hardy, it prefers full sun locations and well-drained soils, while tolerating poor soils and cold climates.
