Description

Spiraea × vanhouttei ‘Firegold’, commonly known as Firegold Vanhoutte Spiraea, is a deciduous shrub with an elegant, arching habit, prized for its bright golden foliage and spectacular spring blooms. In spring, its young leaves emerge a brilliant golden yellow, creating a striking contrast with the abundant clusters of small, pure white flowers that cover the arching branches. This generous bloom creates a very decorative cascading effect in beds or informal hedges. In summer, the foliage turns chartreuse yellow to golden green, then can take on light orange hues in autumn. Hardy and easy to maintain, Spiraea × vanhouttei ‘Firegold’ prefers well-drained soil and a sunny exposure to maintain the intensity of its coloration and ensure abundant flowering.
