Begonia Fimbriata 'Rose'

Pink Fimbriata Begonia (Begonia × tuberhybrida Fimbriata ‘Pink’) stands out with its large, fully double bright pink flowers composed of finely fringed petals that give them a light, textured, and refined appearance. From June to October, its abundant blooms renew themselves continuously, bringing softness, brilliance, and elegance to shaded areas. Its serrated green foliage forms a dense base that beautifully highlights the flowers. Reaching approximately 30 cm in height, this tuberous begonia has a compact habit that is ideal for containers. Perennial in Zone 10, it must be overwintered in a frost-free location under Quebec conditions.
Plant the tuber in spring after all danger of frost has passed, approximately 2 to 3 cm deep, with the hollow side facing upward. Place it in partial sun or partial shade in rich, light, fertile, perfectly drained soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Keep the growing medium evenly moist without allowing it to become waterlogged, and apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every two weeks during active growth. Remove faded flowers regularly to encourage the formation of new buds. Before the first frost, lift the tuber, allow it to dry, and store it in a cool, dry, frost-free location.
Ideal for shaded flower beds, borders, window boxes, and large containers, this begonia creates romantic, luminous displays. It pairs beautifully with impatiens, fuchsias, lobelias, bacopas, and coral bells, which highlight the fringed texture of its pink flowers. The blooms may attract some pollinators but are valued primarily for their outstanding ornamental appeal. They are also suitable for fresh bouquets, where their generous form adds volume, colour, and originality. This variety is not intended for consumption.
