Non-stop 'Yellow' Begonia
It produces exceptionally abundant blooms that bring warmth and brilliance to patios, balconies, and shaded gardens for months. Its compact habit fits beautifully into every planting.
Non-stop Yellow Begonia (Begonia × tuberhybrida Non-stop ‘Yellow’) stands out with its large, fully double bright yellow flowers arranged in compact rosettes above thick, textured dark green foliage. From June to October, its generous blooms renew themselves continuously, bringing warmth, brilliance, and brightness to shaded landscapes. Reaching 20 to 30 cm in height, this tuberous begonia forms a dense clump that fits easily into pots, window boxes, and borders. Perennial in Zone 10, it is not winter hardy in Quebec and must be overwintered in a frost-free location.
Plant the tuber in spring after all danger of frost has passed, approximately 2 to 3 cm deep, with the hollow side facing upward. Place it in partial sun or partial shade in rich, light, fertile, perfectly drained soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Keep the growing medium evenly moist without allowing it to become waterlogged, and apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every two weeks during active growth. Remove faded flowers regularly to support continuous blooming. Before the first frost, lift the tuber, allow it to dry, and store it in a cool, dry, frost-free location.
Ideal for shaded flower beds, borders, window boxes, large containers, and sheltered patios, this begonia creates warm, luminous displays. It pairs beautifully with impatiens, fuchsias, lobelias, bacopas, and coral bells, which highlight its brilliant yellow colour. The flowers may attract some pollinators but are valued primarily for their outstanding ornamental appeal. With its compact habit and uninterrupted flowering, it is an excellent choice for brightening smaller spaces. This variety is not intended for consumption.
