Calla 'Snow Storm' (1 rhizome)

Snow Storm Calla Lily (Zantedeschia ‘Snow Storm’) is a rhizomatous perennial admired for its pure white, cup-shaped flowers held elegantly above glossy green foliage that may be lightly speckled. Their luminous colour creates a fresh, refined, and timeless silhouette that naturally draws attention. From June to August, its generous flowering display brightens summer landscapes and enhances the plant’s exotic appearance. Reaching 45 to 60 cm in height, it forms a graceful clump of deciduous foliage. Hardy only to Zone 10, it must be protected from frost in Quebec.

Plant the rhizomes in spring after all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed sufficiently. Choose a location in full sun or partial sun with rich, fertile, evenly moist, and perfectly drained soil. Lay the rhizomes flat, 8 to 10 cm deep, and space them 30 to 40 cm apart. Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist without allowing it to become waterlogged. An annual application of compost and a balanced fertilizer every two weeks encourage abundant flowering. Before the first frost, lift the rhizomes and store them in a cool, dry place.

‘Snow Storm’ calla lily is ideal for summer flower beds, borders, patios, large containers, and bouquets. For container growing, choose a pot at least 30 cm in diameter with excellent drainage. Its white flowers pair beautifully with begonias, cannas, caladiums, coleus, and coral bells to create elegant tropical displays. Valued for their excellent vase life, the blooms bring freshness, purity, and brightness to floral arrangements. They may also attract some pollinators. However, the flowers are grown exclusively for ornamental purposes and are not intended for consumption.
