'Captain Tricolore' Oriental Lily (Lilium). A festival of colors and fragrance for your garden! The 'Captain Tricolore' Oriental Lily is a true floral work of art. Its captivating gradient, ranging from a silky yellow heart to soft white and pink petals, makes it an unmissable star in the garden. Fragrant and spectacular, it brightens up summer with its August bloom, perfect for enhancing beds, borders, and floral arrangements. With its large flowers and captivating scent, this lily is ideal for gardens and bouquets! Plant from September to November for earlier flowering the following year. In bouquets: A vibrant and fragrant flower that beautifies interiors. Tip: Pair it with blue or purple flowers for a spectacular contrast!
Plant this lily in sun or partial shade, in loose, well-draining soil. Plant the bulb with its base down and its tip up, at the depth appropriate for its packaging. Prepare a sufficiently wide spot so that the roots find loosened soil around them. If the site is exposed to wind, provide support before the stems grow tall, to avoid damaging the bulb later. After planting, water to bring the soil into contact with the roots, then adjust watering according to the actual soil moisture.
After flowering, remove spent flowers but keep the leaves green. They allow the bulb to replenish its reserves before the plant rests. Wait for the foliage to yellow naturally before cutting the dry stems. In a container, pay particular attention to drying out and prevent water from remaining in the saucer. For your bouquets, keep enough foliage on the plant in the garden and use a stable vase. Lilies are ornamental plants that are not edible and are very toxic to cats: keep bulbs, plants, cut flowers, and vase water out of their reach.
