Transplant to a sunny location in warm, fertile, well-drained soil, spacing plants 40–50 cm (16–20 in) apart. Water regularly but moderately. The plants thrive in warm conditions and produce abundantly during long, hot summers. Harvest when the fruits turn bright yellow , at which point their fruity aroma and spiciness are at their peak.
