Beans thrive in light, well-drained soil with a pH around 6.5. Wait until the soil temperature reaches at least 16°C (61°F) before sowing the seeds at a depth of 2.5 cm (1 inch), spaced 8 cm (3 inches) apart in rows 45-70 cm (18-27 inches) apart. Sow successively every 10 days until mid-July for a continuous harvest. Water regularly, especially during flowering and pod formation. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers to prevent excessive foliage growth. Be sure not to handle wet plants to minimize the risk of disease. Germination takes approximately 8 days.
