Farming method
Sow the seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost , or directly outdoors after the last frost , at a depth of 0.3 cm . Germination takes place in 6 to 14 days , at an optimal temperature of around 25°C . As the roots are sensitive , transplant carefully, ideally at least 2 weeks after the last frost , into well-drained soil .
Celosia prefers a sunny location (level 3) and moderate watering (level 2) . It tolerates heat well and maintains consistent flowering even in demanding summer conditions.
Harvesting and preservation
Harvest the flowers when they are fully formed and intensely colored . They keep very well as cut flowers and can also be dried , retaining their shape and some of their color. The young leaves can be picked as needed for culinary use.
