Farming method

Soak the seeds in lukewarm water for up to 12 hours to promote even germination. Start seedlings indoors 4 to 6 weeks before planting out , or sow directly outdoors when conditions permit. Sow at a depth of 1.2 cm , spacing plants 10 cm apart and rows 30 to 45 cm apart, in rich, loose, well-drained soil .

Kohlrabi prefers partial sun/partial shade (level 2) and regular watering (level 2) . Consistent soil moisture promotes the development of tender, well-formed bulbs.

Harvesting and preservation

Harvest when the bulb is clearly visible above the ground and still tender to the touch. Harvesting too late can make the flesh more woody. Remove the leaves after harvesting and store the bulbs in the refrigerator for up to three weeks , or dry them for longer storage.
