Organic 'Large American Flag' Leek
Organic 'Large American Flag' leek (Allium porrum) from the seed company Gaia, a robust leek with long white stems and aromatic sweetness
The 'Large American Flag' leek is a heritage variety prized for its long, 15- to 18-inch white stalks and broad, flat green leaves . Its mild, sweet flavor, reminiscent of a fine, delicate onion, is best revealed when cooked, especially in traditional soups, stews, or pies. Bred to withstand cold weather , this non-bulbous leek develops a creamy texture that gains aromatic depth after a few cool nights. Its impressive size and hardiness make it a must-have for cooler climate gardens.
Versatile, generous and tasty, it brings a vegetal sweetness ideal for enriching winter cuisine.
