Organic 'Yellow Corno Di Toro' pepper (Capsicum annuum) from the seed company Gaia, a long, golden-yellow pepper with a sunny sweetness and a sugary aroma

The 'Yellow Corno Di Toro' pepper is distinguished by its elongated, curved , bright yellow fruits, reminiscent of the elegant shape of a bull's horn. Their thick, sweet flesh reveals a tender texture ideal for slow cooking, roasting, or fresh summer dishes. An open-pollinated heirloom variety, it produces generously on bushy, robust plants, whose vigor often requires support to bear the weight of the numerous, elongated fruits. In the summer heat, it develops a delicate aroma and a brilliant golden color, making it a must-have in Mediterranean vegetable gardens as well as sunny northern gardens.

Its culinary versatility makes it a sought-after pepper: grilled to bring out its sweetness, stuffed for its generous length, or simply sliced raw where it offers a bright and juicy flavor. Farming method

Sow indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting time in warm potting mix maintained between 27 and 31°C to encourage rapid germination, which usually occurs in 7 to 21 days. Sow seeds about 1 cm deep and provide bright light to promote compact growth. Gradually harden off seedlings to around 18 to 19°C before transplanting. Plant outdoors when all risk of frost has passed, spacing plants 30 to 45 cm apart and rows 45 to 60 cm apart. Full sun (level 3) and moderate watering (level 2) support the formation of long, uniform fruit. A trellis or stake is recommended to support the weight of the peppers.

Harvesting and preservation

Harvest the first fruits as soon as they are fully grown to encourage continuous production . Picked when yellow and glossy, they offer their maximum sweetness. Store them at 10-12°C with high humidity to preserve their juicy texture and natural suppleness.
